Strange but true: a job interview starts before you even enter the office - It starts with your wardrobe! Leave your gala costume in the wardrobe and choose normal clothes. We know that normal is subjective, so the rule of thumb is: pick an outfit that's clean, smart, but also comfortable. Don't know what to pick? Sober is always good, so that you don't distract the attention from what really matters: you!
Now about your timing. You will score your first good points if you arrive on time. That means not too late, but not too early either. It's best to arrive five minutes before the agreed upon time. Those five minutes will give you the chance to get comfortable for the interview and shake off any stress you have.
The employment consultant will take a copy of your ID and your CV so that they can add it to your digital record. You will also leave your contact details so they know where to send an e-mail or a letter. Then the consultant will conduct the job interview. This is not an exam, there are no right or wrong answers, so long as you're honest.
After the questions, the consultant will thank you for your time and effort. Now the recruiter will startthesearch for a suitable job for you. That' s it, it's over! All that's left for you to do is to be available, so keep your phone close and be sure to check your e-mails often.
Now, does it take the recruiter a while to get back to you? Feel free to give them a call or send them an e-mail to ask for feedback.
